MCL-Bridge for WebServices
Web Services is an industry standard technology for deploying and providing access to business functions over a company's in-house intranet or the World Wide Web. Using Web Services enables Next Generation Voice Applications to be integrated more rapidly, easily, and cheaply than ever before.
As part of MCL-Collection, the MCL-Bridge for Web Services extends all the MCL benefits to the mobile workforce.
The MCL-Bridge for WebServices keeps voice operators connected regardless of whether they have constant warehouse WiFi connectivity, or occasional GSM/3G connectivity while executing their tasks across the country.
As with MCL-Collection's other bridges, MCL-Bridge for Web Services includes a development component and a deployment component. The development component is integrated as a standard feature of MCL-Designer and allows easy development of data collection applications interfacing with intranet or internet based web services.
In addition, as Web Services are based on industry standards, your MCL-Bridge for Web Services is a compelling enterprise investment providing assurance. No matter which MCL enabled Mobile Computers are implemented now or in the future the MCL-Bridge for Web Services allows for future proofing your Next Generation Voice Applications as it offers cross-device and cross-operating system compatibility.
Industry Standards
MCL-Bridge for WebServices is based on industry standards for when two systems interchange data over the Web.
It utilizes Web Services Description Language (WSDL), an XML based language, which is used for describing the functionality offered by a Web Service.
Furthermore, it is based on Microsoft's MSXML Library, which makes it easy to integrate as there is a wide community of Web Services developers implementing their Web Services on same standards.
Not only will this result in shorter application development times, it also benefits the overall implementation costs.
Flexible Network Architecture
Servers running instances of MCL-Net with the Bridge for WebServices may be co-located or geographically distributed.
Geographically separated MCL-Net servers with the Brdige for WebServices may be connected over your corporate LAN or over the internet. Your MCL-Net with the Bridge for WebServices may even be at a completely different physical location than your mobile computers.
One instance of MCL-Net with the Bridge for WebServices can handle your WLAN communications; another can handle your GPRS or UMTS WWAN mobile worker communications.
